Bom Dia

Bom Dia! (Portuguese for “Good Day”) is a morning news program aired over UNTV Radio La Verdad 1350. It provides up-to-the-minute headline news, intelligent commentaries and public services.

Bom Dia! is hosted by a formidable team of veteran broadcasters headed by Mr. Public Service himself, Kuya Daniel Razon and radio commentator and UNTV host Annie Rentoy. They are also joined by homegrown talent and UNTV’s medical show host, Lyn Perez.

Monday to Friday, 4:00 – 4:30 am and resumes at 5:00 – 5:30 am.

    Daniel Razon or Kuya Daniel as he is fondly known is a multi-awarded broadcast journalist and philanthropist. He is a visionary who has sincere passion for helping others and has pioneered creative campaigns for public service.

    His exceptional voice, charming looks and quick wit were his tickets to a successful career in the broadcast industry. He has worked with the country’s radio and television network giants. These include ABS-CBN, where he anchored several news programs and¬†GMA-7, as a¬†mainstay of its morning show, “Unang Hirit.” Kuya Daniel also¬†hosted “Dakila Ka, Pinoy” and “Pandayan ni Mang Pandoy” in NBN Channel 4.

    At DZMM he anchored “Gising Pilipinas”, “DZMM Network News”, “Pasada 630″, “Compa√Īero y¬†Compa√Īera”, “Kung May Relos, May Razon”, “Usapang de Campanilla” and “Razon Sa Likod ng mga Balita”.

    Today he is the chairman and CEO of Breakthrough and Milestones Productions International (BMPI)¬†Inc., UNTV’s content-provider.¬†Through UNTV, he has launched several key public service projects such as free medication, free rides¬†and free college education. Most notable of these ventures is his Isang Araw Lang (Even for a Day)¬†campaign for changing the world with one simple act of kindness at a time.

    Recognizing that the competitive culture of journalism often results in compromising human lives for the sake of a scoop or an exclusive story, Kuya Daniel came up with the groundbreaking concept of Tulong Muna Bago Balita (Recue First, Report Later). Several teams of journalists were trained in search and rescue operations to enable them to save lives when covering life and death situations.

    Seven years after the launch of UNTV, Kuya Daniel is bringing back the glory days of radio with the launching of UNTV Radio La Verdad 1350.

    Kuya Daniel has received countless recognition for his professional achievements and philantropy. Most recent was his historical win as the first ever ENPRESS Golden Screen TV award for Outstanding News Presenter of 2011 and the 2011 Outstanding Philippine Leadership Excellence Award in Philanthropy (TOPLEAP) for Journalism.

    Unmindful of the praises that people give him for his numerous works, Kuya Daniel remains the same humble man who refuses to take credit for himself and instead attributes it to the Almighty God.

    Annie Rentoy

    Annie Rentoy is the station manager of UNTV Radio La Verdad 1350. She¬†started her career in broadcasting at DZME 1530 kHz Radyo Uno Capitol¬†Broadcasting Center as a field reporter. Soon after, she was anchoring her¬†own public affairs radio program, “Punto de Vista.”

    In 1990, she moved to UBN-United Broadcasting Network. Annie then became the station manager of DWAN Banahaw Broadcasting Corp for four years. She was hosting a daily commentary program with DZXQ under Mabuhay Broadcasting Corp. when she was took in by UNTV.

    Aside from managing and anchoring for UNTV Radio, Ms. Rentoy is also the host¬†of UNTV’s public service-oriented programs “Kaagapay” and “Serbisyo Publiko.”

    Lyn Perez

    Lyn Perez is considered as one of the pioneers of UNTV. A Mass Communication graduate of St. Scholastica’s College, Lyn pursued a career in television after coming home from the United States in 1995 where she worked for management and operations.

    She was discovered by UNTV CEO, Mr. Daniel Razon, who gave her her first hosting job at SBN 21. At the launching of UNTV37, she was entrusted to host the very first daily medical program in television ‚ÄúWhat’s up Doc?”

    At present, aside from hosting a medical segment on UNTV’s morning program “Good Morning Kuya”, Lyn Perez is also a radio anchor for UNTV Radio’s free consultation broadcast, “Ikonsulta Mo.”

    Her continued dedication to public service and media work earned her a nomination for Best Program Host at the 2011 PMPC Star Awards. She is also an Anak TV Seal Awardee together with former Asec in Communication, Atty. Reginald Tongol for their former travel show, “Estranghero.”
